Our Mission

Breaking the Cycle of Homelessness

At Homemore, our mission is to identify, coordinate and meet the social, psychological and physical needs of our residents in a safe and supportive environment. Through signposting and referring residents to professional support services, we strive to achieve an optimum level of well-being for our residents.

By empowering residents and providing them with the tools they need for independent living, we help mitigate risks to themselves, others and the community.

A Holistic Approach to Resident Care

Our mission drives every aspect of our day-to-day operations, guiding our staff in their interactions with residents and shaping our service delivery. We recognise that each individual's journey is unique, and we tailor our support accordingly.

Coordinating Comprehensive Support Services

Our role as a 'membrane' between residents and external services is central to our mission. We act as a bridge, connecting residents with the specialist knowledge and resources they need to progress towards stable, independent living. This collaborative approach involves:

Coordinating Comprehensive Support Services2

By coordinating these services, we ensure that our residents receive comprehensive support tailored to their individual circumstances.

  • Partnering with local authorities, charities, and support organisations

  • Facilitating access to healthcare services, including mental health support

  • Connecting residents with addiction recovery programmes

  • Assisting with benefits and financial advice

  • Providing access to education and employment opportunities

Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment

Empowering Residents for Independent Living

At the heart of our mission is the commitment to providing a safe and stable environment for our residents. We achieve this through:

  • 24/7 staffing at our sites, ensuring responsive support at all times

  • Implementing robust safeguarding policies and procedures

  • Utilising CCTV and other security measures to prevent incidents

  • Maintaining strong links with local police and emergency services

  • Regular staff training in conflict resolution and crisis management

  • Fostering a culture of mutual respect between staff and residents

Homemore's mission goes beyond providing temporary accommodation. We aim to empower our residents with the skills and confidence they need to break the cycle of homelessness. This involves:

  • Offering life skills training, including budgeting and household management

  • Providing support with CV writing and job search skills

  • Facilitating access to education and vocational training opportunities

  • Offering emotional support and building self-esteem

  • Gradually increasing independence as residents progress through our end-to-end housing model

Our 'wet house' policy, which allows controlled alcohol consumption within
residents' rooms, demonstrates our commitment to harm reduction and
realistic support for those struggling with addiction.

Our Core Values and Principles

Measuring Our Impact

Homemore's mission is underpinned by a set of core values that guide our work:

  • Collaboration: Working together with residents, staff, and partner organisations to achieve the best outcomes

  • Innovation: Constantly seeking new and effective solutions to complex challenges

  • Respect: Treating every individual with dignity and recognising their unique journey

  • Safety: Prioritising the well-being and security of our residents and staff

We are committed to continually assessing and improving our services. To measure our success in achieving our mission, we:

  • Track key performance indicators, such as the number of residents successfully transitioned to independent living

  • Conduct regular resident satisfaction surveys

  • Monitor social value impact through partnerships with organisations like Thrive

  • Maintain transparent communication with our stakeholders about our outcomes and challenges

These values inform every aspect of our service delivery and
organisational culture.
